Sowing Foundations
On Tuesday 31 August 2021, we were blessed with the opportunity to once again host our annual Pastors’ Morning Tea! This year’s event was particularly special, because unfortunately we were unable to meet together with the Pastors and local leaders within our community last year due to COVID-19 restrictions. As this was our School Principal – Bruce Hick’s last Pastors’ Morning Tea with us, it was lovely to come together to engage in socially distanced manners and connect with one another!
Our Pastors’ Morning Teas are held annually across each of our Tyndale Christian School locations. Through discussions and fellowship, our Morning Teas are fantastic opportunities to consider how our community leaders can assist and guide our students on their individual journeys. This is because Tyndale believes that supporting our students through their spiritual journey is just as important as providing them a quality education. We want to invest in and equip our students for life beyond the schoolyard and the future that God has planned for them.
Our Pastors’ Morning Teas also encourage positive discussions between different churches and roles of leadership within the community. They are a great way to develop our relationship with them, as well as their relationships with each other.
This year we had a total of 15 local Pastors attend the event. Each engaged in discussions about the Tyndale Christian School Group and our shared Christ-focused values. Main topics of discussion also included, the importance creating a safe and encouraging culture for students to feel comfortable, supported and guided in their faith, as well as sowing seeds and setting up a firm foundation for our staff, students and their families.
The Pastors particularly enjoyed discussions about how Jesus is the ultimate Principal of our School, how we are here to serve and action His plans, and how the community here at Tyndale Christian School is a lighthouse for the local Murray Bridge area. This includes supporting our students and their families along their individual journeys God sets for them. Although each student has their own stories and come from their varying places, every student and their families are welcomed into the Tyndale family.
Each of our guests took home a little gift to honour them for all the work they do in serving our community and supporting young people through possibly one of the most difficult but crucial, times of their lives.
Overall, we had a delightful time reminiscing on previous events and memories together, acknowledging our gratefulness for the relationships we have formed, and the significant impact Bruce has had on the Murray Bridge community. By engaging in thought-provoking conversations over a warm cuppa and some delicious baked goods, we had a wonderful morning together! We look forward to hosting our Pastors’ Morning Tea again in 2022!
