FLYING START: 3-Year-Old Preschool

Our Early Learning Centres at Tyndale Christian School Strathalbyn and Murray Bridge are Partner Services delivering the South Australian Government’s Flying Start 3-year-old preschool programme.

The introduction of 3-year-old preschool was a key recommendation of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care. Research shows that two years of quality early learning can lead to stronger developmental and educational outcomes than one year alone.

Flying Start provides children with teacher-led, play-based learning during the important years before school. Through meaningful play and exploration, children are supported to build confidence, curiosity and the skills they need for learning and life.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Children enrolled at our Early Learning Centres may be eligible to access Flying Start from the year they turn 3.

Eligible children can access up to 15 hours of preschool each week, depending on individual needs and availability. The programme is led by a qualified early childhood teacher, supported by experienced early childhood educators within a warm and nurturing environment.

Flying Start also supports the ongoing development of our teachers and educators, helping us continue to provide high-quality early learning experiences for every child.
